Hi everyone,
Back in 2014 I stayed with my dad at the InterContinental Tokyo Bay in Minato, and our very first meal in Japan was at a tiny ramen shop we stumbled upon walking toward Zojo‑ji and Tokyo Tower. It was such a special moment – my dad has since passed away, and I’m returning solo this summer hoping to find that exact bowl again.
What I remember:
- Near the hotel, as we found the place by simply walking in the neighbourhood towards Zojo-ji and Tokyo Tower
- I remember once you entered the place, the actual tables were after a short flight of stairs going down
- A display of plastic‐food models out front (I guess this is pretty much everywhere)
- Warm, wood interior
- It was small but not counter-only
- Very local clientele, we were the only non-japanese people
I’d be so grateful if anyone recognizes this description. Even if you know of one or two candidates in that fit the bill, please let me know. I know 11 years have passed so maybe it looks different now.
Thank you so much for helping me revisit this memory.
