Will like to ask are there things to explore in Kyoto beyond the above? My wife & I first went to Kyoto in 2023 for 4D3N and had visited pretty much all the famous temples, Arashiyama bamboo grove, Pontocho (day & night), the features in & around Kyoto station, Nishiki market and took the Sagano train. TBH (pls don't flame me), we were a tad bored by the whole experience and for the next 2 years didn't return to Kyoto. We skipped a day trip to Uji as neither of us are into macha. Our past 2 trips were spent in Osaka and Kobe instead (around 9-10 days each place) and we enjoyed ourselves significantly.
For next year, we will like to revisit Kyoto again and hence will like to kindly seek advice on the interesting things to explore there apart from the Nintendo museum we are keen to visit.
