Japan’s biggest Awa Odori dance festival in Koenji 2024 — over 20 teams, nonstop energy 🇯🇵💃

I filmed this at Koenji Awa Odori 2024, one of Japan’s largest and most exciting traditional dance festivals.
Held in Tokyo each summer, this two-day event brings over 10,000 dancers and 1 million spectators to the streets of Koenji.

The dance is called Awa Odori (阿波踊り), originating from Tokushima over 400 years ago. Each team (ren) has its own style, music, and rhythm — and the energy is incredible.
