TL;DR A new law in Japan targets exploitative practices in the host club industry, making “romance sales tactics” illegal. The law prohibits advertisements that boast about hosts’ success, such as sales figures or rankings, to prevent excessive spending and coercion. The industry is reacting negatively, fearing a drop in sales, but the change aims to reduce emotional manipulation and exploitation.

Good. Maybe now they can get a real job and stop trying to rob and coerce emotionally vulnerable people.
These host/hostess club has been linked to sexual exploitations/crime/forced prostitution for decades. Still they are not banned. Its so fucked.
i still remember that one truck with their top 5… top dude hitting over 100million or something, but honestly – he was one ugly fucker. it made no sense…
They will find some other method which sadly will be much harder to take down ( most probably go online).
Probably a couple years back but I was with someone trying to explain the meaning behind a sign and the host who was on it came up and said “I’m the dude on the sign!” and he flexxed a watch like it meant he was worth something.
I don’t know when this bullshit started, but I know when the Japanese media started promoting Rolando as a success as a host on tv, shit got a bit sick.
Ginza is the real money. People don’t need to promote.

That was one of my favorite things about walking through Kabukicho at night. I don’t speak Japanese so I didn’t really understand what they were advertising, but it really empowered the “neon lit cyberpunk cozy” vibe. My most favorite is walking through all the side streets with like 150 shops crammed into a 100 meter stroll
Still wild hearing that some tachinbou at Okubo Park do it to keep supporting or because they’re in debt from borrowing money to spend on the host
Curse you Australia!
