The rise of Japan’s far right was supercharged by Trump – and tourists

1. The thing that’s at best contradictory is the rise of the far-right related to poor behavior by tourists who either way do not live in Japan and only come temporarily.

2. Remember – majority: other Asian tourists. Western tourists: minority.

3. No it was supercharged by foreigners misbehaving and speculating on the Japanese real estate market

4. It’s happening all over the world right now.

5. It’s easier to blame others than to take a hard look at yourself.

   Why are we seeing an increase against foreigners? Whatever the reason may be, the country allowed or tolerated it.
   Why? Money talks, that’s why.
   Tourism brings in billions for the countries, selling the empty houses that even Japanese don’t want brings in money.

   Unfortunately, there are people like Trump and others like him who will exploit this and use it as an excuse to launch their political campaign. In reality, these people have no idea how to run a country. They just want to be in charge and ruin it more.

   I’ve spent some time in Japan. Is not just western people that cause shit, it’s also Chinese, the Koreans and Indians. But no one is saying anything about our blaming them.

6. I went to Japan on February and I can see the Japanese annoyed particularly by the Chinese tourism.

   I think Japan must be an inexpensive kind of trip from China and thus you get the cheap and rude travelers. The previous time I was there, in 2018, this was not an issue.
