Applied/interviewed for a position in Tokyo and received a job offer around July 4th, immediately accepted and was told start date would be October 1. They sent me a CoE application to fill out which I did and told me I'd receive an email from SmartHR with onboarding documents "shortly" but still haven't signed any contracts or gotten any further emails. Reached out 2 weeks later and was told since start date is so far away we still have plenty of time.
The issue is I'm bringing a cat and need to notify Haneda quarantine of my arrival date and flight number more than 40 days in advance. Obviously don't feel comfortable buying a ticket/temp housing for a job I haven't signed for. Am I being unreasonable? Should filling out the CoE be enough for me to book a flight? How should I approach this?
