40-Year-Old Man Arrested for Cocaine Smuggling Not Indicted

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has decided not to indict a 40-year-old man who was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department for allegedly smuggling approximately 1.8 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside baseball bats.

The 40-year-old Peruvian national, who works as a mixed martial artist, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department last month on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Law. He was accused of smuggling about 1.8 kilograms of cocaine, worth approximately 47 million yen at street value, from the United States in July last year, hidden inside baseball bats.

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office decided not to indict the man as of the 22nd.

The reason for the non-indictment has not been disclosed.
