Hi, I’m a Japanese citizen and my romanized last name is a bit unusual because of some family background. This is causing issues with things like booking plane tickets or filling out some forms, so my family and I really want to change the romanized spelling as soon as possible. We went to passport office and were told we couldn’t change the romanization, but I was wondering if this could be taken as a special case since its interfering with our daily lives. Has anyone else experienced similar things or could offer us some advice?
