Hey folks, hoping for some input here. We’ve got three wall-mounted AC units, all about 7 years old, and while they still work, the cleaning costs are piling up. Professional cleaning runs us about ¥25,000 per unit, which adds up quick.
We’re now looking to replace all three, ideally with models that have a super simple design — fewer internal parts means less hassle and lower cleaning costs. We’ve heard that some models only cost ¥4,000–¥5,000 to clean due to their minimalist internal structure. That’s the kind of setup we’re after.
Main reasons for replacing:
Kids have been showing signs of dust allergies lately, and I’m convinced these older units aren’t helping.
And honestly, paying ¥75,000 just to get them cleaned feels nuts.
Has anyone here gone down the same path and found brands or models that are easier (and cheaper) to clean professionally? Would love to hear recommendations, especially if they’ve worked well in allergy-prone households.
