A very sweet couple runs this place. I highly recommend it.
Edit: I recommend this place for their hummus , bean paste , and lamb dish .
Used to a great Persian place with a solid lunch buffet across from the Grand Hyatt, tore down the building a while back, unfortunately.
I’ve heard this place is very good.

Bolbol in Koenji has super nice vibes and super yummy kubideh
Ta’im has AMAZING hummus and falafel.
Byblos Lebanese Restaurant. Really good food and their cake is amazing. I’m not even a cake person but cakes and desserts are seriously next level.
Zenobia in Hiroo—chef is Syrian, always good there.
Also, despite the name, Cafe de Sept in Shimokitazawa. It *used* to be a French restaurant, but during covid, the chef turned to a Lebanese chef he knew to borrow his recipe for curry so that he’d at least have something to sell for takeout. The curry basically saved his shop and as a thanks, he hired the Lebanese chef and he gets to serve whatever he dang well pleases. Really good Middle Eastern food with pretty sizable portions.
Pao Caravansarai is a good Afghan restaurant in Higashi-Nakano.
