  1. Wake me up when the idol industry isn’t a seething cesspit. Ig we aren’t South Korea

  2. I will reserve judgement until the facts have been clarified in court.

It sounds like it *could* be a false accusation to save face.

Reading between the lines in the article it sounds like she got pregnant by sleeping around while working as an idol. The accused claims it was consensual.

A lot of men have their lives ruined by wrongful accusations, I’ve seen many post about it on Reddit.

Of course if he is found guilty of s.assault then fuck him, and full support and sympathy for the victim.

Edit: This has gotten a lot of downvotes and annoyed comments, so allow me to tell a real story.

A close friend from high school was accused of rape when he was 19. He lost his job, his friends and future prospects. In court the girl was found to have made up important parts of the accusation and ultimately he was found innocent and she apologized for lying.

No punishment was given to her but my friend has lived with this for over a decade. People who only heard the allegations shouted “Rapist” at him in the street and he had to move a few towns over to escape. He’s still not doing ok, and suffers many problems all stemming from this girls accusations.

So when you read a story that is all claims and no conviction you should consider that there is a chance (even if you think it’s small) that it might not be true.

That’s why I’m waiting to pass judgement on this guy until after a conviction. I’m not defending him, or downplaying the seriousness of the victims claim. Just that you should wait before stringing the guy up.

    Thanks for reading.

  3. Remember, the pop idol industry is evil regardless of nation. They are almost unianimously rife with financial, physical, mental, sexual and labor abuse. It’s the ultimate commodification of music and it’s idols are expendable products. Show biz will always have scum no matter the medium or genre, but the more industrial it gets the worse the abuse is.

  4. I have an impression many men get into this type of work only to be able to somehow exploit their position of power and get access to young, often underage women. It’s disgusting.

  5. This is a truly awful situation. My heart goes out to Shuna Amamiya. I hope she gets the support and justice she deserves. It takes incredible courage to come forward with something like this.

  6. This has been an open secret for decades. There are stories about actresses, news caster, talent being forced into sex work, sexual slavery, sexual assault victims by managers/exec of the company. The entertainment industry is basically water business. I mean how many idols have come on to some talk show and openly talked about being used as basically prostitute for entertainment company exec. People on the show just go “oh, too bad. Aw poor thing”, and then pretend like its an unusual thing, only for a different young girl to be brought out on the same show like a few months later to tell the exactly same kind story of abuse. Its like man, all of you know about this too.

Same with the west. Weinstein, diddy and epstein of the world are all over media and politics.

  7. The idol culture is just bad, fans get so obsessed which leads to the whole okubo park pop-up businesses and obviously the idols getting taken advantage of by their own people that are working with them.
