Car crashes into convenience store, man broke a leg; 77-year-old woman driving says “I made a mistake”


On the morning of the 18th, a car crashed into the “Family Mart Higashi-Osaka Wakae Minami Town Store” in Wakae Minami Town 1-chome, Higashi-Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The incident was reported by a store employee at 9:20 AM.

According to the Osaka Prefectural Police, a man in his 20s who was outside the store was caught between the car and the building, resulting in a broken left leg. He was taken to the hospital and remains conscious.

The car was driven by a 77-year-old unemployed woman from Chuo Ward, Osaka City. She reportedly said she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake while trying to park, causing the vehicle to lunge forward into the store.

Neither the woman nor the store employees were injured, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident in detail.
