I am currently moving out of my apartment in Japan. Before moving in, my rental agent moved a fridge into the property and now moving out idk what to do with it.
I know other people who have found rentals through this agent and he went and picked the fridges he gave them up when they moved out just recently, but he is telling me I need to pay to have it disposed.
Chatgpt is saying the fridge is not my responsibility as it was technically here when I moved in, and it seems the rental agent is trying to push the responsibility onto me so he doesn't need to deal with it. I do not want to get hit with large fees for leaving it for my inspection though so idk if I should just bite the bullet and pay to have it removed now or if I should fight him on it.
(note: the real estate agent is not the landlord, I have never been in actual contact with the landlord and I am not sure how to proceed. I have no mention of the fridge in any sort of writing saying it was a gift, and it was not included into my contract at all.)
Advice needed. Thanks.
