Shipping my stuff without a destination address?

Hi there,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask for help—if not, please feel free to let me know and point me in the right direction.

I currently live in Japan and I’m in a bit of a tricky situation. I’m moving up north for a new job and had planned to move into a new apartment. My move-in date is August 14th, but the rental company is asking for a certificate of employment from my new employer. Unfortunately, my employer won’t be able to provide that document until I officially start work on August 18th. To make things more complicated, the rental office in the new city will be closed during the holidays, which makes the timing even harder.

Because of this, I won’t have a delivery address available on the 14th. I’ve been trying to find a moving service that can both transport my belongings—including large appliances—and hold them in storage temporarily until I can finalize the apartment.

I tried Kuroneko’s regular service, but they require a delivery address at the time of shipping. I also tried contacting Yamato Transport’s moving service, but their English support line just goes to an answering machine. I eventually found their email inquiry form, but I understand it can take 2–3 days to get a reply—and my move date is coming up fast.

If anyone has advice or knows of services that might be able to help with this kind of situation, I would really appreciate it. Again, if this isn’t the right place to post, just let me know where to ask instead.

Thanks so much in advance!
