I’m going to live in Kyoto and study at Doshisha University (Imadegawa) and my monthly rent for dormitory is 60k yen (utilities included). My dormitory will be close to the university, it’s also relatively new building and fully equipped which is great but there are rules that bother me. For example, you must give a notice in advance if you’re planning to spend the night elsewhere than the dormitory, also there’s curfew after 11 until 6.30am and bunch of other rules.
So I’m wondering if it’s possible to find an apartment near Imadegawa Station for a rent under 60k. I have a very tight budget so I’m thinking should I just put up with inconvenient rules or is it worth it finding an apartment. My sister also wants to visit me after 3-4 months, so it’d be great to accommodate her as well, but I don’t know if giving up on the dormitory is worth it
