Looking for a new oven for the kitchen, and the wife wants one with a steam function as well as microwave.
I almost bought one on Amazon.co.jp when I noticed it was rated for 50hz, and I'm not sure it will work well on 60hz. Unfortunately, Amazon has no easy way to filter for 60hz appliances, as nearly as I can tell. You can use it as a search term but it's hit or miss.
I kind of hate going into the big electronics stores like Yodabashi, etc. for this sort of thing. I don't like the way things are advertised, and my wife is ridiculously susceptible to the aggressive sales pitches you tend to get. Plus, my wife has all kinds of demanding criteria for the exact kind of appliances she wants, and it's super frustrating to go appliance-by-appliance or aisle-by-aisle in those big stores while she says nope, nope, nope, until some salesdude walks up and talks her into buying something that isn't remotely similar to the thing she was asking for in the first place haha…
Didn't mean for this turn into a rant, but there you go… TLDR, what kinds of ovens are you guys using?

Aren’t all Japanese appliances rated for 50/60hz out of the box? Am I missing something? I mean I remember things being localized to Kanto or Kansai when I first got here, but that was 1988…
I have brought appliances with me from Kanto to Kansai without any issues.
Edit:
Apparently microwaves are still *sometimes* localized. So you want to look for 60hz specifically or try looking for ヘルツフリー which is compatible with both regions. There’s a lot of hits for 電子レンジ ヘルツフリー on Amazon, for example. I’m gonna assume that most manufacturers now make a lot of ヘルツフリー appliances because it’s probably not efficient to do otherwise. Just search for your specific model with ヘルツフリー added to the search term.
