Being somewhat health-concious I was looking for a Yakult type drink at the convenience store and ended up buying 朝のYoo from ITO-EN. It was nice enough, but when I translated the name of the 'healthy bacteria' on the label, I got a bit concerned. It's labelled as フェカリス複合菌, which the internet tells me is 'bacillus faecalis complex', and that faecalis is a drug resistant opportunistic pathogen found in the intestines and one of the leading causes of UTIs. Thanks, ITO-EN!
