Hello! I am currently in Kyoto for some time, this is the fourth big city I have been in Japan. And usually I use the reddit of the cities to find events, things to do, plans with people, but in the time I have been here I see nothing happening, people don't post or ask to do things, I can't find another Kyoto reddit dedicated to just to that topic, even on the Meetup webpage most of the "activities" is online lessons spam.
Where do you people socialize or find events activities to meet new people? I'm enjoying Kyoto more than other cities but I am really struggling to find cool social events (specially of international communities) some insight would be highly appreciated, thanks have a nice day 🙂

This is really interesting. Maybe it’s because it’s a small city, or maybe “Kyoto people” stereotypes apply to the international community too.
What do you like to do? Your hobby might be a way to meet people.
Some people DO post meetups and events, and they are welcome to do so. I wish more would. A lot of events are posted in stations and shopping arcade bulletin boards.
