Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. has been selected by Tokyo Metropolitan Government for a project to explore the creation of a hydrogen supply system via pipelines in the coastal area near airports. This project involves studying the feasibility and preliminary design for large-scale hydrogen supply and usage in the coastal airport area. It aligns with the third stage of the plan outlined by the “Council for Examining Hydrogen Supply Systems in Tokyo,” which includes laying pipelines. Tokyo Gas will conduct this study, covering the area from Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture to Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo, until the end of fiscal year 2026. This is the first time there will be a detailed examination of constructing high-pressure hydrogen pipelines within Tokyo.
