Hi, I am looking to build a house in Yokohama Or Kanagawa with an area of around 35 Tsubo. I really like the products and build quality of Sumitomo Ringyo. I was quoted total cost of 35-45 Million JPY, which is within my budget. It includes all the overhead costs too and taxes too. I have PR and I thought I wouldn’t need any down payments, However I was also told by the Sales representative that I might have to pay around 500k~1 Million each to the Land owner and to the Sumitomo Ringyo before the final contract. They said it will be transferred back to my account after I move in. I am sensing because they want to secure the contract and avoid time waste of both the parties.
I knew Companies like Ichijou Koumuten ask for initial deposits before the final contract.
Has anyone else been asked deposits by Companies like Sumitomo Ringyo, Mitsui Homes, Sekisui etc.
