Spring Water of Enmei Jizo, Ishikura-machi, Toyama City

In 1858, during the Hietsu Earthquake, Mt. Otobi and Mt. Kotobi — the sources of the Jōganji River — collapsed, causing the Itachi River to overflow. Many lives were lost, and to console the spirits of the victims, numerous Jizo statues and other memorials were enshrined along the river. Among them, the spring water at the Enmei Jizo on the riverbank is said to be sacred water that cures all illnesses.
