NJPW G1 Climax 35 Final Match (August 17) Stats & Info • Sport of Pro Wrestling

And with that, my seventh G1 Climax supporting the NJPW community is complete. Thank you to anyone here who read any of these stats & info posts, used the scenario tracker, or participated in the Pick 'Em contest. Regardless of the community's reaction to the results of the tournament, the G1 Climax is my favorite period of the year to support the NJPW fanbase. I hope my work enhanced your enjoyment or helped you follow along!

There are some milestones at stake tonight:

  • The 2024 and 2025 G1 Climax tournaments mark the first time in history that consecutive G1 Climax Final Matches feature two first-time finalists. Prior to 2024, the last time the tournament final featured two first-time finalists was 2012 when Kazuchika Okada defeated Karl Anderson.
  • Konosuke Takeshita is 26:16 away from history. If the G1 Climax 35 Final lasts longer than 26:16, he’ll hold the record for the longest total match time in a single G1 tournament. For comparison: All-time Final avg: 24:07, Last 10 Finals avg: 31:57.
  • EVIL’s 2025 average match length (11:11) is the second-shortest ever for a wrestler reaching the G1 Climax Final in a round-robin G1 tournament. The only shorter: Kazuyuki Fujita in 2005 (6:50).
