Hi!
Next year I will travel to Japan with my parents in law (which are 67). I have been in Japan already three times, so my question here is specifically focused on two things:
1. travelling with PEOPLE OVER 65 YEARS OLD.
2. recommendations for my empty days considering I am travelling with old people and we won't do day trips that takes 3 hours go and 3 hours back of transport.
They are healthy but for example I can not have expect them to walk everyday 30000 steps, so I just know we will do slow visits where we only see the most important things, and a lot of public transport to avoid walking.
I plan the following:
Day 1 Tokyo: arrival, Asakusa and Tokyo Sky tree
Day 2 Tokyo: Tokyo Tower Zōjōji, Hamaryuku Gardens, Odaiba + Teamlab planets
Day 3 Tokyo: Tokyo Station, Imperial Palace, WHAT ELSE???
Day 4: Day trip Hakone and sleep there.
Day 5: trip from Hakone to Fujikawaguchiko (more efficient than going back to Tokyo – OPINIONS?). Sleep there
Day 6 Tokyo: back to Tokyo from Fujikawaguchiko and explore Shinjuku, Meiji Jing, Harajuku
Day 7: EMPTY what can we do?
Day 8 Osaka: travel to Osaka and explore castle and Dotonbori (we will stay here until we go back to Tokyo)
Day 9 Kyoto: Kyoto Day trip
Day 10 Hiroshima: Hiroshima + Itsukushima Day trip
Day 11: back to Tokyo midday and explore Shibuya (Shibuya Sky, koishikawa Korakuen, Ueno Park maybe and aakihabara maybe)
Day 12 ??: KAMAKURA Day trip? Not sure if worth it as you have to walk a bit too much
Day 13 Tokyo: WHAT CAN WE DO
So I need help if you think this is too much for the kind of people I described or maybe to less, and also opinion on what to do during the empty days.
Thanks!!
Edit: changed "relax" for slow. Also, I do not plan to the minute what to do, but I think visiting those cities is worth it, even if you only see 1 thing…
