Made an advanced reservation online and submitted a ‘web payment’ (ie credit card online payment). My experience with other car rentals (in different countries) is that they do a holding charge to the card, that is pending and does not constitute an actual charge until car pickup or return.
But for Toyota rent a car, a confirmed charge was made to my card and I have to make payment now in Aug for a Oct rental. Is that normal, and how would a cancellation work in terms of the advanced payment made (since the website says no extra charges for cancellation up to 7 days before)?
