Hot Summer = Warmer Autumn?

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into historical weather patterns where a hot summer leads to a warmer than normal autumn. Or does the summer season really have no effect on fall weather patterns. I know that peak fall colors last season were delayed a few weeks. I've been watching the weather and this summer has been brutally hot so far so I'm curious if anyone has any experience with a hot summer leading to a warmer autumn, thus delaying the peak momiji season.

I'm having a really difficult time choosing dates for peak leaf peeping in Tokyo and Kyoto. Based on my schedule I would either have to do Nov 10-24 or Dec 8-22.

I'm leaning towards December based on last years forecast, but I'm worried I might be a little too late.

Any thoughts or experience would be amazing. Thanks!
