Hey, I just thought I’d ask here for some clarification, I’ve talked to family and friends about this but none of them have ever been to Japan.
I decided to go to Osaka alone. First time to Japan, and I couldn’t find someone to commit to the trip with me, so I said fuck it.
Getting there was sweet, I left my stuff in my capsule hotel and went over to a bar down the street. For context, I live in the mountains of America, and I am a college drinker. Dontonbori is sea level, so the alcohol doesn’t hit me quite as hard as when I am at home. Anyways, I didn’t have too much, 2 beers, sake shot, and I started on a whiskey highball but i walked away from it to say what’s up to some other whitekids who came in. Anyways, that’s the last thing I remember. I woke up in a random laundry mat across the dontonbori river towards America-Mura. They took everything. My phone, wallet passport, and hotel keycard which they used to open my locker and take out 200,000 yen (all my money for the 2 week trip).
Does this happen a lot? Why would they take my passport? I was able to get everything figured out with the American consulate and my parents via my laptop that miraculously didn’t get stolen but I’m still super confused. I don’t believe I drank that much, as even a few days later after getting money sent to me, I went out drinking and drank WAY more ( 3 – 4 beers, and 5 – 6 vodka redbulls.) and I remember it all, no black out. Anyone got anything to say about it?
