Shota challenges Naito in the Tokyo Dome main event avenging Jon Moxley's summer reign and loses, mirroring the story of Naito's failures in his first chapter as a main eventer when he challenged Okada who got the belt back from Tana. Goto beats Naito at the beginning of spring to cement his 20 year long quest to the title. Shota will challenge again in the 2027 dome main event as a new character.
