Hi all! Moving from the states to Ryogoku area of Tokyo near the temple. Advice/suggestions for the area?

Hey all!

I’m moving to Tokyo in the Ryogoku/Sumida area of Tokyo, I’ll be moving near the Eko In Temple teaching at the preschool which is through the temple for the next 11 months or more.

My fellowship and school haven’t given me a tone of information about the area, so I’m here to ask, for folks that live in the area or have, can you suggest good grocery stores/places to get essentials when I first arrive? Places in the area to get house supplies and basic food?

Has anyone used grocery delivery in the area? Do you have a favorite laundry mat in the area? Things to keep in mind in the area? Just all the things for the area and general suggestions or advice?

Any and all help or suggestions are appreciated! Feeling a little overwhelmed, especially as I am Legally Blind, so would love some guidance for the area!
