I have a friend who I met on a train about a month ago who is from Japan. We started to talk to each other on the train and now have each other added on whatsapp and message each other. The problem is the fact that they'll take a few days to respond but I respond in a few hours. We also have other on instagram. Right now, they've seen my message since yesterday evening, but hasn't gotten back in 7 days which is longer than the usual 2 to 3 days. When they respond, they always seem interested and always ask more questions, and we'll always message each other in chuncks.. We try to speak English and Japanese to each other since I want to learn Japanese. They said that they're in university, which from what I've researched, normally starts from April and ends in March.
Is this normal? Should I be worried about this? What might this look like in the future?
