I am supposed to move into the apartment on the 1st of Sept in Tokyo. This was a bit of a sudden move due to me leaving a toxic/abusive relationship.
Maybe it's nerves of this new journey.
But I've been thinking about the cancellation policy on my new place. It stipulated canceling within a year of the contract I have to pay 2 months rent. If I cancel after one year, I have to pay one month rent.
Is that normal?
Little background on the apartment. 35 years old, renovated and it seems well taken care of by the owner. First month rent is free, no key or thank you money either.
Maybe it just my nerves and overthinking mind, and I hope it is. Because if I got slapped over on this I'ma be so pissed. Do not want to have anything else added onto my list.
I guess I'm wondering about it as well because I've told myself if this move, new environment, area, beginning, doesn't help with my mental I'll go home where family is. But I don't wanna get railed in the process. Ahh appreciate your help and thank you.
