I’m visiting Okinawa soon and I’m strictly vegetarian (no eggs, no meat/seafood). I know Japanese cuisine is pretty heavy on fish and pork, so I was wondering what options I might have while I’m there.
- Are there any local Okinawan or Japanese dishes that are naturally vegetarian-friendly?
- How easy is it to find vegetarian meals at convenience stores or supermarkets?
- Bonus: tips on how to explain “no meat, no fish, no egg” in Japanese so it’s understood clearly.
