Survey Methodology:
JNN used the RDD (Random Digit Dialing) method, which involves randomly generating phone numbers to call both landlines and cell phones. The survey was conducted on August 2 and 3 with 2,531 participants aged 18 and older across Japan (843 landline and 1,688 cellphone users). Out of these, 39.6% (or 1,003 people) provided valid responses, including 498 on landlines and 505 on cell phones.

JNN prefers phone surveys over internet surveys to reduce bias, as online polls often attract respondents who are particularly interested in politics. To get a more accurate representation of voters, interviews are conducted by survey staff rather than automated systems. For landlines, participants are selected randomly to ensure a balanced age distribution.
