Recently Mercari changed their policies so that you must go through identity verification in order to get paid.
This is a problem because my zairyu card has my middle name, but my bank does not support middle names. The only workaround I've found so far is to try to find a bank that supports middle names (I heard Shinsei Bank does, maybe there are others?)
But also there could be an issue that the bank account name is katakana, but my Zairyu card name is romaji. Will Mercari be able to match between the two?
Has anyone been able to make this work recently?
