My wife and I are traveling to Japan late April 2026 and booked our flights and hotel in Shinjuku area. I’m getting nervous about walking around with my head/neck tattoos and getting rejected from restaurants and stores. I already reached out to my hotel and I wouldn’t be allowed to use the swimming pool due to my tattoos but will still be allowed to stay for my entire trip.
I understand the stigma and also have read it’s been more accepting in recent times but just wanted to hear about everyone’s experiences regarding this topic.
