A 36-year-old company employee from Akenodaira, Tomiya City, has been arrested for secretly filming a girl under 10 years old using a smartphone hidden in a modified shoe. He was detained on suspicion of violating laws against illicit filming, specifically targeting indecent actions.
According to the police, the incident occurred on August 3 around 4:20 PM inside a store in a commercial facility in Tomiya City. The man allegedly used a shoe with a hole to expose a smartphone lens and attempted to film underneath the skirt of a young girl with whom he had no prior acquaintance.
The incident came to light when someone witnessed the act and notified the facility staff, who then reported it to the police. Based on eyewitness accounts and security camera footage, the man was arrested.
The suspect has admitted to the charges, stating, “There is no mistake.” The police are now conducting a thorough investigation into any additional offenses and the suspect’s motives.
