Beyond Google Translate (I'm trying to not use their products since they've gone full evil), what other Translate apps do people recommend for traveling to Japan? A bit of context: we're visiting a host family from a college trip, in addition to wanting to read signage and converse with shop owners. We're using duolingo to brush up on our language skills as well!
