I will start a remote Master’s in Data Science soon but I also want to study Japanese in Japan for a year. Is it a bad idea to cancel the masters and just go to a language school?

I am Bulgarian, and I recently returned from a 3 week trip to Japan and I loved it so much, I actually cried on my last day before the flight. When I was in high school, I did Japanese lessons, started N4 before I quit because I had to focus on my Computer Science degree. I deeply regret it, I hate programming now, and I've been working as a developer for a bank for 3 years. I want a new start, so I thought I'd try switching to Data Science while moving to the UK to work (luckily I have Settled Status so immigration isn't an issue).

But I found out that I can apply to study Japanese in Japan at a language school just recently. I feel like this can possibly become my dream come true that I abandoned 10 years ago. I'm 27 now, single, no mortgage, and I have about 25 000 euros in savings.

I really don't want to do the master's anymore, it's fully remote but I imagine it will be hard to balance both it and studying Japanese (while possibly having to work part time to not run out of savings).

Should I try applying for a language school and cancel the masters? Or should I try to balance both?
