Luggage Storage for One Week

We're planning on flying into Narita and staying a night or two in Tokyo. After that, we're heading to Kyoto and a few other cities for about a week, and then return to Tokyo.

We're planning on bringing several suitcases, most of which will be empty (with expectations of filling them up with gifts), and only keep one suitcase with us for essentials during the Kyoto trip.

What would be the best option for storing our extra bags for a week? The ones I have in mind are:

• Luggage storage lockers for a week ~50$
• Ask the hotel in Tokyo to store our bags for us, since we're staying there again when we return from traveling (but are there hotels willing to hold bags for a week?)
• Luggage forwarding service, telling them to forward from Tokyo to Tokyo (Go to a service in Tokyo, tell them we're going to be arriving at a hotel in Tokyo in a week).

Are any of the above feasible? Are there options I haven't considered?

Edit: Thanks for all the comments, we'll start with #2 after we book our Tokyo hotel (likely the same for both legs), and if not, look into #3.
