Do I need Tax Clearance Certificate issued by IRD (Tax Office here) or is Ward (where I live) verification enough for student visa Application?

I’m applying for abroad studies and I’m a bit confused about the tax documents. My father has cleared his taxes, but I’m unsure whether I specifically need the Tax Clearance Certificate issued by the IRD (Tax Office) or if a document from the Ward Office verifying that tax has been cleared is sufficient.
