So I've been doing some reading on the license conversion process for US citizens. My license was issued in Indiana, so I am exempt from the road skills test, but not the knowledge test. However, most of the information I have found has "only" applied to people that are exempt from both.
My question is, when and how do I complete the knowledge test (preferably in English)? Do I just show up at one of the testing centers early and ask to take the test, or is there some kind of reservation system available for that? Can I do the knowledge test on the same day as my actual license conversion appointment to save an extra trip?
On a side note, I'm also not sure about the documents needed to prove 3 months of residence in my home country. Will my passport and license suffice, or will I need something else? I saw that they accept school transcripts, but my school only offers digital transcripts so I'm not sure how to get them an "original" copy.
Tokyo-to fyi.
Thanks.
