President Trump of the United States signed an executive order on July 31st to impose new mutual tariffs. The tariffs on Japan will increase from 10% to 15% and will take effect in seven days. Initially, Trump had announced a 25% tariff starting August 1st, but after discussions between the U.S. and Japan, they agreed on a 15% tariff instead.
