I just moved to Japan and just signed apartment via my employer 社宅契約, and I just got an email from the corporate housing management company saying that I am being charged ¥100,000+ worth of exit cleaning fee 契約時に退去ﾊｳｽｸﾘｰﾆﾝｸﾞ費用 and lock change fee 鍵交換費用：16,500円. This unit has never been occupied anybody and has no current tenants because it is a new home. I'm wondering if they are making a bureaucratic mistake by automatically charging this fee, and it is not necessary to do so.
Any advice here?? Is this normal?
