Looking to rehome a young dog (Tokyo pref.)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to reach out here since I sometimes see posts about rescue options or alternatives to buying from pet store chains. Rather than reaching out to rehoming organizations.

I also posted on r/ japanresident in case.

I recently brought a 7-month-old Pomchi (Pomeranian × Chihuahua, short but double coated, white robe, 2kg) into my home. She’s pocket sized, healthy, well socialized with people, overall has an excellent base to grow into a wonderful doggie:

  • Potty pad trained (working on the outdoors currently)
  • Not a barker (only gets vocal when meeting unfamiliar dogs and at the door step)
  • Comfortable with transport/carriers and grooming
  • Not food aggressive (though quite possessive with treats)
  • Very affectionate , prefers to be princess carried rather than going on a walk (working on building that confidence).

I plan to spay her before handing her.

The reason why I'm rehoming is not due to any bad behavior. She’s genuinely a good pup (in comparison to my Biggy she has been an angel), but I’ve realized that her breed type just isn’t the right fit for me and my other dog. I have a big Italian Greyhound, and while the two get along well, the breed difference feels much larger than expected. I believe she’d thrive better as someone’s first dog or as a family-centered (good with kids and elderly) companion.

I did my research beforehand on both breeds before concluding it would be a good match. I've owned both dog, cats, rodents, took care of miniature fish ponds/tank, etc. I also did another post with little more details as to why I’m considering rehoming.

Important:

  • I’m not in a rush to rehome her : I’d like to take the time to find the right people. Not to add I'm still training her to build her confidence around big dogs, and outdoor places. The process will take time.
  • This won’t be a one-time “giveaway” meeting. I’ll treat the process like an adoption: multiple meetings, asking very specific questions, getting information, having proof of pet friendly housing, making sure it’s a good fit on both sides, etc.
  • An adoption fee will apply, to help cover her care, belongings, potential travel fees, etc and ensure genuine interest.

If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be, please feel free to reach out and ask question (and pics) through DMs. I’m located in the Tokyo area (Chiba side) but open to discussing transport within reason.
I want serious I inquiries only.

Thanks for reading this far. My objective is to find her the best possible match.

Edit : someone wasn't happy about her rehoming fees. I invite you to read the replies here for the estimated price and further information. The rehoming offer will still be available unless I remove the post. I prefer her to stay with me as long as she can until I find someone decent enough.
