This is a follow-up to my parking post from a couple of days ago. I have some newbie questions regarding the procedure to buy a car here. I spoke with the seller and I intent to pay in cash. It's going to be via bank transfer. How does it work exactly? I go see the car, I sign the ownership transfer papers and then I pay the money? Or pay the money first and then sign the papers? I just don't want to be a dick if they ask me to pay first and I complain that I want to sign beforehand. Also are they OK with net transfers for these kind of deals or the transfer is done via atm or at the counter at the bank? I use Shinsei and there is no branch where I am going to buy the car. Carrying the cash on me is not an option.
