Local stray cat followed me home for some treats and I let her hang out in my genkan waiting for the rain to stop. I’m cooking dinner and turn around because I hear that telltale bzzzzzz sound and lo and behold, a HUGE suzumebachi is crawling up my light cord. Obviously I feel out the door(turned off the stove don’t worry). But now what?!?
I snuck back into the kitchen and turned off the kitchen light but left the genkan light on, hoping the light draws it out the door. However, I don’t see or hear it now. It was completely dark outside and raining, didn’t think anything would be flying around but now THIS?!?
What do I do?!? Like do I just have to carefully go about my life and sleep in my car until it dies? Help lol.
UPDATE SHE’S IN THE GENKAN
I turned on my car headlights to try to draw her outside. This may require running past her to turn off the genkan lights.

HOLY FUCK IT WORKED!!!
I had to be brave and use my umbrella to turn off all the genkan lights because she was crawling back into my kitchen but car headlights pointed at my front door got her out! Unfortunately that did mean her flying around in my general direction for a while and running back inside in the dark, but hey I saw her go out and land on a plant so I think we are in the clear.
Will post some pictures below. Was too scared to get close but I hope the fact that you can still see while I’m cowering outside my house proves she was the real deal.
