Is Jme TV Streaming app a good way to supplement learning?

I am looking for Japanese content to watch to help, but I'm not a huge anime fan.

Was looking at Jme. It is a little expensive, so I want to make sure it is worth it.

Quality content? Is the news on there reasonable? I really don't want to watch something that is the equivalent of the U.S.'s Fox News.
