My wife and I took our young kids to our local high school’s gakuensai. It was open to the public and neither of us had ever been to one, but the school is the evacuation point for our kids’ hoikuen so we thought we should check it out anyway. We ended up having a good time. Our kids are just 3 and 1, but all of the students were excited to see them and made us feel very welcome. It probably would have been awkward if it was just us adults, so seeing it with kids was a great way to take part in it.
Studied for Kanji Kentei most of the weekend. This goes without saying but Kanji is freaking hard for someone who hasn’t spent their whole life learning and using it. A little over a month left to study for Pre level 2 and I am getting barely passing scores. I heard the higher levels are hard even for Japanese. Only 38.8 percent passed the last Pre level 2 test of 2024.
