Hello everyone! I've been here for about 1.5 years on a Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa and have been a company employee at the same company since I've moved here. Although I don't hold an HSP visa, I believe it's still possible for me to apply for PR as I already have 80+ points through the point system. I wanted to get this application sent out sooner than later, as I know the processing times are quite long at the moment. However, I had a question in regards to my family who moved here with me. When starting the immigration process to Japan, my employer took care of most of the paperwork in regards to the COE and visa applications for my entire family. However, since I'll be applying for PR myself, I was wondering the following:
- When I apply, I'm assuming I need to apply for my whole family as well as myself and send everything in together as one application?
- Can I assume that if PR is granted to me, my family will automatically follow suit since they're dependents of me?
- If PR is granted to me, I know that I'm technically allowed to work (or not work) however I please. However, I'm assuming that this wouldn't necessarily apply to my spouse, correct?
- Are there any other considerations I need to keep in mind while filling out applicants for my dependents?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!
