As the weather gets nice i would love to go camping in the mountains around Yamashina. I've hiked Bushimundo a few times and I've seen fire rings in the dried up river beds but I have no idea of the legality of camping in the mountains. I have a hammock with rain fly/mosquito net and a sleeping bag but no propane stove. Anyone know anything about camping in Kyoto?

To the best of my knowledge they’re not off limits to camping in the sense that as long as you don’t cause any trouble or damages. Lots of people do solo camping in the mountains with small burners as well.
