Advice on landing a job in Japan.

Hey there! I am looking at relocating to Japan in the coming years. I have read this group extensively but realize I work in a niche industry and hopefully can catch someone who works adjacent to my experience.

My partner (we’re both gay males so can’t relocate on marriage) is from Tokyo and he can transfer there with his job as a software engineer. My main road block, I do not speak business level Japanese.

I have a background in global security including a masters in international relations, U.S. Navy in Japan, and have worked in corporate security at Microsoft and the New York Times.

I am constantly searching LinkedIn and other job board websites like USAjobs.

No hate on those that do, but I am not cut out for teaching English, nor would the salary support my lifestyle.

Open to any and all advice on job sites, recruiters, think tanks, universities, and international schools. At this point I’m willing to pay money for a headhunter.
